    Samskrit or Sanskrit?

    Both "samskrit" and "sanskrit" are acceptable, but "sanskrit" is the more common spelling, while "samskrit" is considered more authentic by some scholars.

    Indeed, both spellings have their significance! 'Sanskrit' is widely recognized, but 'Samskrit' reflects the language's roots and authenticity. It's fascinating how language evolves and how different forms can coexist.

    उभयोरपि प्रयोगः युक्तः, किन्तु “Samskrit” इति रूपं मूलोच्चारणेन अधिकं समीपम्।

    Sanskrta would be more accurate from stem point of view. Ri is hindi mispronunciation of ऋ as people forgot ऋ and र् are same sounds just one is svara (in vedic carried pitch 'svara'), while other is vyanjana due to svara sandhi of ऋ. Among m and n, n is close to dental स though panini keeps it anusvara yet in fluid speech n makes more sense in sandhi.
