मनस्यन्यद् वचस्यन्यद् कर्मण्यन्यद् दुरात्मनाम् ॥
महान लोगों के मन, वचन और कर्म एक समान होते हैं; जबकि दुष्ट लोगों के मन में कुछ, वाणी में कुछ और कर्म में कुछ और ही होता है।

यह सुभाषित 'कथनी और करनी' की एकता पर बल देता है। जो 'महात्मा' (महान लोग) होते हैं, उनके मन में जो होता है, वही वे बोलते हैं और वही वे करते हैं। इसके विपरीत, 'दुरात्मा' (तुच्छ सोच वाले लोग) सोचते कुछ और हैं, बोलते कुछ और हैं और करते कुछ और ही हैं। जीवन का सबक यह है कि असली व्यक्तित्व का निर्माण ईमानदारी से होता है। यदि आप अपने विचारों, शब्दों और कार्यों में तालमेल बिठा लेते हैं, तो आप स्वयं एक 'महात्मा' बनने की राह पर अग्रसर हो जाते हैं। दोहरा व्यक्तित्व केवल तनाव और अविश्वास पैदा करता है।

This verse highlights the Power of Integrity. It states that for great souls (Mahātmanām), there is perfect alignment between their thoughts (Manasi), their words (Vacasi), and their actions (Karmani). However, for those with a wicked or small mind (Durātmanām), all three are different and conflicting. The life lesson is: Authenticity is the highest form of character. Success and peace come when you stop living a "double life." When what you think, what you say, and what you do are the same, you gain an inner strength that is visible to the entire world.
