According to Hitopodesh, you don't need to ask people about their background. Just observe these 4 things:

🔹 Conduct reveals their Family Upbringing. (Your character is your family's resume).
🔹 Speech reveals their Native Region. (Your accent and tone never lie).
🔹 Eagerness reveals their True Affection. (Fake words are easy; genuine excitement cannot be faked).
🔹 Physical Health reveals their Diet. (You are what you eat).

This 2,000-year-old profiling technique is exactly what modern behavioral science teaches today! Human nature never changes.

(This sloka is also belonging in Chanakya Niti Shastra)
