सुमन्तमण्डलः

लक्ष्मीः समाविशतु गच्छतु वा यथेष्टम् ।
अद्यैव वा मरणमस्तु युगान्तरे वा
न्याय्यात्पथः प्रविचलन्ति पदं न धीराः ॥
नीतिवान लोग निंदा करें या प्रशंसा, धन आए या चला जाए, मृत्यु आज हो या युगों बाद;
धैर्यवान लोग न्याय के मार्ग से कभी अपने पैर पीछे नहीं हटाते।

यह सुभाषित 'धैर्य' और 'निश्चय' की पराकाष्ठा है। नीति में निपुण लोग चाहे निंदा करें या स्तुति (तारीफ), लक्ष्मी (धन) आए या अपनी इच्छा से चली जाए, मृत्यु आज ही हो जाए या युगों के बाद—जो 'धैर्यवान' पुरुष होते हैं, वे न्याय और सत्य के मार्ग से एक कदम भी विचलित नहीं होते। जीवन का सबक यह है कि अपनी नैतिकता और सिद्धांतों को बाहरी परिस्थितियों (लाभ, हानि, प्रशंसा या अपमान) के आधार पर न बदलें। अडिग रहना ही महानता की पहली शर्त है। जब आपका उद्देश्य स्पष्ट और न्यायपूर्ण होता है, तो दुनिया का कोई भी डर आपको झुका नहीं सकता।

This verse defines the character of a Person of Fortitude (Dhira). It states: Whether experts in worldly affairs praise them or criticize them; whether wealth comes or goes as it pleases; whether death arrives today or after centuries—those who are steadfast never deviate even a single step from the path of justice and truth. The life lesson is: Internal Validation. If your actions are rooted in what is right (Nyāyya), the "weather" of the outside world—fame, poverty, or even the threat of failure—should not change your course. Stability comes from within, not from your surroundings.
