सुमन्तमण्डलः

सर्वाः सम्पत्तयस्तस्य संतुष्टं यस्य मानसम् ।
उपानद्गूढपादस्य ननु चर्मावृतेव भूः ॥
जिसका मन संतुष्ट है, उसके पास संसार की सभी संपत्तियाँ हैं; जैसे जूते पहनने वाले के लिए सारी पृथ्वी ही चमड़े से ढकी हुई के समान है।

यह श्लोक 'सन्तोष' की शक्ति को एक बहुत ही व्यवहारिक उदाहरण से समझाता है। जिसका मन संतुष्ट है, उसके पास सारी संपत्तियाँ हैं।
जैसे—जिस व्यक्ति ने अपने पैरों में जूते पहन रखे हैं, उसके लिए पूरी पृथ्वी ही चमड़े से ढकी हुई है (उसे कंकड़-पत्थर नहीं चुभते)। उसे पूरी पृथ्वी पर चमड़ा बिछाने की जरूरत नहीं है।
जीवन का सबक: हम अक्सर दुनिया को बदलने की कोशिश करते हैं ताकि हमें सुख मिले, जबकि जरूरत केवल अपने मन के दृष्टिकोण को बदलने की है। यदि आप भीतर से संतुष्ट हैं, तो बाहरी अभाव आपको दुखी नहीं कर सकते।

This verse uses a brilliant analogy to explain Contentment. For a person whose mind is satisfied, all the wealth of the world belongs to them.
Just as a person wearing shoes feels as if the entire earth is covered in leather (and thus protected from thorns), a contented person finds peace everywhere. You don't need to carpet the whole world to walk comfortably; you just need to protect your own feet.
The Life Lesson: Happiness is an internal "fit." Instead of trying to control every external circumstance, cultivate a mind that is at peace with what it has. Contentment is the ultimate luxury.
