    अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्। उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्॥
(Ayaṃ nijaḥ paro veti gaṇanā laghucetasām | udāracaritānāṃ tu vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam)
Meaning: "This is mine, that is his" is the thinking of narrow-minded people. For those of noble character, the entire world is one family.
Context: This is perhaps the most famous Sanskrit quote worldwide, promoting a sense of universal brotherhood.

अयं निजः परॊ वा -- "This or that is native (but not both)." If we are like houses, then I can close the windows and doors and just reflect on what is mine and what I am is inside my house mind. Or he is closed and what he has is closed off within his house--then I can try and get it into my house. Few people realize the house is as large as their minds and that we intersect more (much more that we fear imagining ourselves alone and our fantasies real) in a world whose largest house is the extent of our soul-resounding, earth-bound good will. To treat strangers as family--at least in the sense of being One under the radiant splendor of having souls bound to choice-bodies, to me it makes meaningful sharing my existence at all.
