The people you spend time with, whether at work or in your friend circle, shape your personality. That’s why the company you keep really matters.

the human mind (Manas) is considered highly absorbent, much like water. A person is not inherently "low" or "high." Chanakya and Bhartṛhari both emphasize that your सङ्गतिः (Company) dictates your trajectory. You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. The verse scientifically categorizes the outcomes of environments into three levels:

Put a brilliant student or professional in a toxic culture, and their talent will fade. In a mediocre culture, they might seem fine but will never hit their full potential. But in an environment of excellence and mentorship, they can grow into a leader. The culture of your company truly shapes your future.
