    श्लोकः - 152/365

    Dr. Rahul Maity Public
    ६/१/२०२६, ६:३१:२३ पू (6/1/2026, 6:31:23 AM)
This verse is the ultimate ancient Indian guide to Patience, Self-Worth, and Surviving Tough Times. अन्योक्ति-अलङ्कारः (The Power of Allegory) In IKS, Anyokti is a rhetorical device where praise or blame is directed at an object of nature, but the actual target is a human being.
    -
कोकिलः (The Cuckoo): Represents a highly talented, skilled, or educated person (a scholar, an artist, or an expert). The cuckoo is known for its beautiful voice.
    -
विरसाः दिवसाः (Joyless Days): Represents an economic downturn, a toxic workplace, or a time when society fails to appreciate true talent (like autumn/winter when trees have no fruit).
    -
    रसालः (The Mango Tree)
: Represents the ideal patron, the right opportunity, or a noble institution that truly recognizes and rewards high-value talent.

The Strategy of Patience and Self-Worth : The poet advises the Cuckoo (the expert) not to sing in the dry, barren forest. If you sing for dead trees or thorny bushes, your beautiful voice will be wasted and mocked. The IKS strategy here is "Strategic Silence." During harsh times (Virasān divasān), a wise person should lay low, survive quietly (Vanāntare nivasan), and preserve their energy. Never lower your standards to please an ignorant crowd.Seeking the

Appreciator of Merit: Just as the cuckoo waits specifically for the Mango tree—because only the Mango tree can support the bees (Ali-māla) and the cuckoo with its sweet nectar—a talented individual must wait for an environment that has the capacity to understand their worth.
